“I think it would be really interesting with the age-old Batman/Superman conflict because they are two different sides of the same coin and their methods are entirely different. And I think it would actually make for an interesting story as to why, first of all, they were going head to head and how. I think that would make a great story.” — Henry Cavill regarding the possibilities of a World’s Finest movie.
“I just gotta comment on the coloring on this cover. Dan Jurgens drew 2 black lines behind Supes to indicate that it’s a panel. See how the smoke ends on the left hand side? It’s a design thing. But the colorist totally ignored this, and colored the background as if those lines don’t exist. The proper response would have been to leave the sides white. But you know, empty color can be scary to some I guess.” — Dave Johnson.
I think it makes the art look lazy & unfinished.. like Liefeld backgrounds.
The posture, the tone, the confidence.. no actor has been able to convey “the disguise” as well as Christopher Reeve. He is and always will be Superman.
The cover for Superman #170 has to be my all-time favorite Ed McGuinness cover.
