“I just gotta comment on the coloring on this cover. Dan Jurgens drew 2 black lines behind Supes to indicate that it’s a panel. See how the smoke ends on the left hand side? It’s a design thing. But the colorist totally ignored this, and colored the background as if those lines don’t exist. The proper response would have been to leave the sides white. But you know, empty color can be scary to some I guess.” — Dave Johnson. I think it makes the art look lazy & unfinished.. like Liefeld backgrounds.
