Remember when your parents complained about you wasting your money on those stupid funny books? Yeah, well…$3,207,852.00 later.

One year ago today, Ben Affleck was announced as the new Batman…and the internet was broken.

Ladies & Gents: The Batfleck!

I’m really happy about how awesome this looks in person.

What’s going on here excites me. The look irritates me. It has that bad CGI/video game feel typical of Zack Snyder films. I was hoping he was finally done with that after Man of Steel.

Still not convinced about this pint-sized actress, but the costume does look good (even with the poorly Photoshopped background). Bonus points for the skirt!

"I want you to remember, Clark. In all the years to come…in your most private moments. I want you to remember my hand at your throat. I want you to remember…the one man who beat you."

Here’s an update on the Superman post.

That last image gets rid of all the Snyder so you can actually see the slight costume changes.

I sure hope this shot of the new Superman costume is just a mockup & not the sign of a return to Snyder’s lazy, washed out, gloomy, low-budget CGI backgrounds.

Zack Snyder has tweeted (twat?) our first look at Ben Affleck in the Batman costume, alongside the new Batmobile! The photo on top is his original, the middle is one I lightened up in Photoshop.

While I’m loving the Dark Knight Returns inspiration, I’m scared that the man-in-a-rubber-suit vibe I’m getting is a big step backwards. With the Nolan films (and even the Arkham games), we’ve moved beyond the need for a sculpted rubber suit. The body armor style has proven itself to work better on film & for more flexibility of the actors. I mean.. can he even rest his arms at his sides? [Side note: It could very well be the black & white nature of this photo giving it that sculpted rubber look and have more of that fabric Man of Steel feel.]

The last photo is the movie I REALLY wanna see, though!

Secret Origins #1

What can I say about my return to the New 52niverse? Well…the Greg Pak story was well written & had pretty pictures from Lee Weeks. But in this New 52 continuity, why am I getting the same old tried & true Superman origin?

As for the other two stories, (Robin & Supergirl), they just weren’t written well at all…which really sucks because that Robin story had so much potential.
